can expect on our slopes. Our 2003 / 2004 snow report is updated more frequenly,
and offers more accurate and meaningful informations. </p>
<p>Already greatly improved last season with the introduction of new indicators
like the "Skiability ratio", the "Resort Whiteness" and the "Back on Skis" indicators,
the snow report makes additionnal progresses : 1 - The "Skiability ratio" gets
more accurate, moving from 4 to 10 levels, giving a better clue on how much
of the ski area is open. 2 - Introduction of the weather forecast for the next
day, and in partnership with Météo France the 4 days weather forecast is available
through the detailed resort report. 3 - A formal "Quality Committment Chart"
signed up by 102 resorts members of the ANMSM / SKI FRANCE association. The
SKI FRANCE snow report is then more than ever the outmost provider of quality
information on snow, weather, and resorts, for your most successful mountain
vacations ! </p>
<p>GENERAL COMMENTS : The informations are provided by the resorts under their
direct responsibility. The resorts commit on the quality and credibility of
those informations which can evolve very quickly with changing weather. The
report is the result of field observation rather than a snow forecasting system.
RESORT ALTITUDE : It is the altitude corresponding to the main accommodation
place in the resort. This altitude is communicated by the resort at the beginning
of the season, and kept as a reference for all the winter season. Some resorts
have several accommodation areas. In this case the resort is asked to pick one
of those as the reference for the sake of this report. The detail of the different
resort areas can be presented in the detailed report. RESORT WHITENESS : Is
there snow on the roofs, on the trees, at the reference resort altitude ? This
is what this indicator tells you with 3 grades.</p>
