Just at the top of Modane, based at a 1550 meters elevation, you can see the village of Charmaix, with old houses made of stones and wood, covered of "Savoie Rocks" roof covers. There was born Valfréjus. Created in an ideal site for skiing and hiking, renowned for the pure sky, Valfréjus initiated a new generation of ski resorts "ready to take off" (no need to walk).<BR>
Situated on the border between the Northern and Southern Alps, close to the Vanoise and the Ecrins National Parks, Valmeinier is the last born of the Maurienne ski resorts. <BR>
